Background & Ethos
I spend most of my week writing music. That matters more than it might sound: when I teach, students are learning from someone who's wrestling the same creative problems they are.
I started tutoring in 2024 and quickly realised the lessons I loved giving weren't the ones where I lectured the students to sleep; instead, where I asked the right questions and watched them find their own voice through their music. That became the whole approach. I enjoy a wide variety of genres and specialise in folk, pop and rock.
Aside from teaching, I've enjoyed performing solo piano at venues such as the Steinway Hall in London, and my compositions have been played to live audiences around England and Scotland.

How you'll learn
Theory follows a fairly structured approach adapted to the student's knowledge. Composition and production are a bit more conversational, so students arrive at their own creative conclusions. They should feel comfortable sharing their weirdest ideas! That's when unique flare can emerge.
A few logistics:
• Lessons are exclusively online and fit around you, wherever you are.
• If students want to use software, we can start on free tools like BandLab and MuseScore - we set this up together in the trial. If you have access to Logic Pro, even better!
• Lessons must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance, else are payable in full.
